Not as good as the remake

I bought this movie because I loved the remake, and I was slightly disappointed because it’s not near as good as the remake. The remake was filled with amazing gore scenes, great acting, and suspense. But this one has a lot less gore, the acting is decent, and I have seen more suspenseful movies. But this was still good, and I did enjoy it. This is a classic, and if you like the remake then you should probably see this movie.

I think the main reason I didn’t like this as much as I did was because it’s a pretty old movie it was made in 1977. It’s about a devil man who has a devil family and they will stop at nothing to kill anyone who passes threw their dessert. There may not be too much of a plot, but that doesn’t stop it from being a good horror movie. There are some pretty decent looking gore scenes and they definitely look great for a movie that was made over thirty years ago. I am not going to give them out because that would definitely spoil the movie for you.

Like I said before the acting is decent I have seen better actors but it’s not like they did bad I just think maybe they could have been a little more hysterical because of what happened. No one really plays their part badly but I think maybe they could have done just a tad bit better. None of the actors/actress are famous so I see no point in saying their names.

The location looks great; they are in a dessert somewhere near California. We get to see stuff like rattle snakes, and everything that you will find in your average dessert. The killers look pretty bad compared to what they look like in the remake but if I had never seen the remake then I would have thought they were good. The don’t really look bad it’s just it probably would have made the movie a lot more scary if they looked a little more grotesque. One is bald, and one is really hairy and tall and their teeth are screwed up, and they have names like Jupiter and Pluto.

This movie is pretty scary and is definitely entertaining. It’s also unpredictable because I had no idea what was going to happen to the family. The remake is a lot different from this movie the story is different, and there are totally different characters. If your going to see this movie I would highly recommend the remake because it has way better special effects and is just a better movie. I would still recommend this movie to a friend though. If you’re a horror fan then this movie simply cannot be missed out on because it’s a classic just like Halloween. Well maybe it wasn’t as big as Halloween but it was definitely good enough to make a remake.

One problem this movie has is that it just kind of ends with a plot hole or two. Thank god they made a sequel I still have not seen it yet but I definitely will very soon because I really want to find out what else happens. I think this movie is worth ten bucks so if you want to buy it they have it a Wal-Mart that’s where I got mine. If you haven’t seen that many horror movies then I guarantee you will be freaked out by the movie. This is probably about as scary as Halloween or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
