Catch a buzz...

Love it or hate it, "High Times" magazine is one of the most infamous rags in the world. For years HT has been bringing civilization the news about marijuana and hemp and along with such groups as NORML (The National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws) has helped to change our view of this much misunderstood and demonized plant.

I have read "High Times" since I was a teenager and although the magazine does tend to cater towards what I'll call dumb-doper humor at times, it offers enough hard core reporting on drug laws and political issues to satisfy almost any serious activist.

In the past few years HT has torn open and exposed the so-called War on Drugs for what it is, a ridiculous waste of tax payers money and a horrible attack on the freedom of US citizens everywhere. "High Times" has kept a close watch on the government and their findings on marijuana studies (which, by the way, have shown time and time again that marijuana is one of the least toxic and safest known "drugs" in the world today. Not one single death has ever been attributed to it's use in 5,000 years of study).

Whatever your view is on drugs (and I should point out that I am AGAINST drug abuse, especially among our young people), it's time we all take a good hard look at what the Drug War has brought us (more kids than ever are using them) and at what cost we are willing to imprison otherwise law abiding citizens.

"High Times" has been tackling issues like these for nearly two decades now.

For those who already read this magazine, I'm preaching to the choir. For those who are on the fence, pick up a copy and check it out, you may just learn something. For those of you "anti-drug" warriors out there, PLEASE pick up an issue and begin de-programming yourself.
