The 2000 Series

The Bottom Line: I would buy this if you aren't the type to abuse a PC.
I have owned this notebook computer for 5 months. It has decent screen. I do some photo editing on this thing and the colors are pretty close to what gets printed. The original battery on this computer does not stay charged very long so I bought the extended life battery for it and it stays charged for a long time considering I run it with no special power settings (I replaced the reduced power settings). The wireless on this computer has decent range and the wired network card runs well. I recently upgraded the operating system to Vista Ultimate and this computer took it well. I downloaded the drivers from the HP site and burned them to disk before the upgrade so after I upgraded the installation of the drivers for all of the hardware on this computer went flawlessly. With Vista on it the Web Cam actually works better than it did with Windows XP Home Edition. The processor on this thing gets mildly hot and one has to make sure that it has airflow underneath it. If you put it on a pillow and then set it in your lap it overheats and shuts down. I use one of those padded things made for sitting a computer on and have had no shutdown issues since then. This PC is kind of flimsy in it's construction but for $900 it is worth every penny
