Great Printer Unless you have VISTA or Office 2007

HP D7460 Photosmart Printer
The Good:
I have owned lots of HP printers over the years and this one produces the best photo prints yet - very sharp and detailed. It is very fast, not overly loud and the text print quality is excellent.

The Bad:
This printer will NOT work with MS VISTA or Office 2007. It suffers from the horrible and well documented incompatibilities between VISTA and drivers for a bunch of HP printers. It will periodically go offline requiring a reboot and re-telling VISTA to use it online. Worse, Word 2007 gives an error every time you close a document if the D7460 is your default printer. HP support worked on the problem for awhile and then gave up and of course Microsoft has no clue ! Shame on you HP for continuing to sell a product you know does not work. My advice: avoid all HP Photosmart printers for awhile until someone fixes the driver problems.
