I've had it for a year with no problems

The Bottom Line: I recommend this unit to anyone who needs basic office needs. Printing, scanning, faxing, document feeder. Get the model above this if you need wireless.
I purchased the officejet 5610 for my basic computer and office needs. I needed something to print documents quickly, to scan, to scan in pdf, and to fax occasionally.
I paid $129 after a discount, which is extremely cheap for a solid all in one unit.
The unit itself is very simple, sturdy, and does not take up much space. In comparison to my old canon, it's practically half the size.
It doesn't contain any wireless connections, color lcd screens, memory inserts, or any other extras. What it does have is typical scanner, automatic document feeder, prints in black and color, and is a fax machine. These are the absolute essentials for an office printer.
If you need wireless or true networking capabilities, you may want to look at the models above this unit that offer more features.
The hp prints color and b&w very fast and with no log jams. I can print a 50 page document (holds 100 sheets of paper) and never do I have to go back and pull a jammed sheet out. In fact of all the times I printed, only once did a get a jam and thats because I had the plastic feeder mounted at an angle.
The prints are clear and laser like and the color is quite nice for price. I've printed brochures for my business and people assumed that they were from a laser printer.
The scanner is nice, but not the same as a seperate scanner. The picture quality is fine, but if you are doing serious graphic work, I would definitely look elsewhere. On picture quality, I would give the scanner a 7 at best.
The automatic document feeder is always useful in an office. When clients documents come in, I'm always able to pop off the staple and within a minute have a full pdf of their file. The quality is excellent and it's never given me any problems. It's definitely been the MOST RELIABLE printer I have ever used.
I haven't used all the faxing features, but for basic faxes coming in and out, it does it's job. Throw the document in, dial the number, hit fax, wallah..
The ink catridges are also fairly inexpensive.
Black #27 prints 220 pages in black (inexpensive)
Black #56 prints 450 pages in black (more expensive)
Color #22 (standard color which is inexpensive)
Color #58 (slightly more expensive for photos)
The ink refill kits for black are very inexpensive and work wonderfully with these catridges. The print haven't been harmed and I've been able to print over 3000 pages on the same catridge just by refilling it with black ink.
The software that hp gives is quite nice. Hp Image Zone lets you organize your photos as well scan documents in. This is a nice feature for pdfs. I use this for photos and I use hp document viewer for pdfs and other clients files.
The software does it's job without any hangups. If you are going for serious graphics, then you may want to try photoshop or another adobe product. If you are looking to do business scans and occasional family scans, hp has the right software for you.
I cannot say anything bad about this unit. It's simple, it's inexpensive, it does what it's supposed to do, it prints quickly, sharp, and accurately. It scans fairly well, never jams in the document feeder, and send and recieve scans without headaches.
All the reviews that gave this unit positive praise is what made me purchase it, so I figure I would give back in the end :)
