HP P2015 LaserJet printer

I have had a HP P2015 LaserJet printer at work for about 6 months. It's a great, trouble-free, dual-paper feed, FAST, laser printer. Whisper quiet, too. Print quality is flawless, but this is, of course, a black & white monochrome printer.  So when my 6-year old Samsung ML-1650 "home" laser printer gave up the ghost about a week ago, it was a no-brainer choice to replace it with the HP P2015.

There is minimal written documentation that is provided, but that's because the printer set up is so simple. Just pop in the CD and let it do the install. I have a Mac, running OS 10.5.5 "Leopard." Leopard takes care of adding the printer to the print list, you no longer even have to use the printer install utility that the "read me for Mac" user's guide says to use. Older Mas OS X systems might still require using the printer set up utility, though.
There is a side cover panel with room to add additional memory, but this printer is so fast with its default 32 mB of memory that I haven't found any need to augment beyond the built-in memory.  The printer is compact, at 14 inches wide by 18 inches deep by 10 inches high. It weighs just 23 pounds. The built-in fonts are 45 scalable TruePoint fonts and 35 PostScrip fonts. That has proven to be more than sufficient for my needs. Resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 dpi.

The P2015 is the bare-bones single-sided printing version with a basic USB2 connection; you can upgrade to a network-capable version and/or a duplex version, but the basic P2015 was exactly what I was looking for, and for the $268 price it can't be beat.

There are two toner cartridges that are available: a 3,000-page 53A that will set you back around $80, or a 7,000-page 53X that goes for about $145. Of course, the printer comes with the smaller 53A cartridge, but I can't really fault HP for that.
