Author's Review
I received my Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv6000t PC Notebook last Christmas, so that means I have had it for exactly one year as of today. I am satisfied with my laptop, but I do have some problems with it.
I have never had a problem with the computer dying or parts breaking, so I have never had to call customer service. Therefore I cannot rate their customer service, but I do know that ordering the computer off of their website was a fairly easy and simple process.
The laptop runs great. When I received it, I was very impressed with the Core Duo processor. Compared to my old desktop (which I believe was running with a Pentium III) this new processor was fast. I still think it runs almost just as fast as the day I got it.
However, the first thing I noticed that I didn't like about it was the short battery span. When I first received the computer, the battery would only last for about 45 minutes. I thought it must have been something I was doing, so I made sure to turn off the computer, plug it in for 24 hours, and then when I turned the computer back on it did seem to run a little longer, maybe for an hour. However, I have noticed that starting about a month ago, the batter now only lasts for about 20 minutes max! To make matters worse, it always dies before it gives me the "critical battery" warning so it always surprises me when it shuts off in front of my face. However, I am happy to say that when it dies, and when I turn it back on, my work is always in the same condition where I left it. I have never once lost data because the battery died.
Another problem that I have with the laptop, though it's probably more of an annoyance. The QuickPlay buttons, as well as the volume buttons located above the function keys, are very easy to press. If you accidentally push the QuickPlay button, the QuickPlay program pops up on the computer screen and it's a bit of an annoyance because you have to stop what you are doing and turn it off. Also, the buttons make annoying "beep" noises when you press them even if you have the computer on mute.
