Ok PC, but the service is rubbish
Pros:
Fast, Bright Screen, a lot of built in features. Quiet at times, and is portable
Cons:
Poor battery, case scratches easily, Hot, The built in OS is poor
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this laptop as it is practical, and fun. It is fully featured, but recommend another OS to save its life!

OK, for my birthday, my parents got me a new dv6284eu. I was so happy, becuase it was quite powerful, but alas. After a week, the webcam stopped working with the built in vista, the nVidia graphics chip was malfuctioning with vista (as thousands of other pc's did as well tho), the power was rubbish, i got 1 hour on minimum screen brightness, and power save. The HP backup did not work, and guess what, it broke down! and i could not boot up with the backup feature. I called them, and they called back promptly, but had no idea WHAT was going on. They just kept blaming microsoft, hardware malfunction yada yada and i was left with the option to purchase the CD's to recover the OS, even though it was not my fault! not cheap i must say. So i was left to fend for myself. I had some DELL Vista DVD's lying around, so i installed that, and guess what... all the problems disappeared!!!!!!
The sound is good, as the speakers are altec lansing although it could be louder. The plastic although nice, scratches way too easily, i got 2 really deep scratches from accidently bashing it against my watch. Not very practical. The screen is nice and bright, and the processor is good. It is a bit hot and i wish it came with a longer battery. Overall it is a nice PC with a different OS version! (buy a sepereate Vista DVD). Otherwise u will be dissapointed as your computer will die one bit at a time! The WLAN is good and strong, and the data transfer with the hard drive is good. The touchpad is exceptional! but the keyboard could be a bit more responsive.
