A nice workhorse that has met my needs
Pros:
minimal jamming, sharp crisp text, excellent ppm, energy saving mode.
Cons:
Needs more standard memory, 1100 page capacity is small for high volume
The Bottom Line:
A great high volume printer that more universities and business should consider. Not really practical for a home office.

The Good:
This is a great printer for any business or school that would need a high volume black and white printer connected to a network. At the university I attend each printer is connected to 8-16 computers and handles the multiple tasks with no problem, except speed(more on that later).
I have used this printer to print out over 1000 pages of articles to read and assignments to turn in. If the quality of the original document is good, then this printer will print out an excellent quality print. Characters down to 8 point font are readily readable with very little blurring of characters. How many times have my documents jammed? zero. I have seen other students get paper jams, but so far I have not had any on my jobs.
Black and white figures and pictures do look better than forcing a color figure or picture into black and white, but the figures are still acceptable. I have printed several assignments that contained graphs, tables and pictures and all were acceptable. Of course I knew the resolution of this printer and I have stayed away from trying to print high resolution pictures.
I like the high print speed of this printer, 32ppm, I have printed out some fairly large articles and they print out at a very rapid pace, except for PDFs(see below).
I also like that you can print out on both sides of the paper, which reduces the amount of paper wastes on printing things out. This is a slower process than the 32ppm, but I don't mind waiting a little longer to get my printouts.
The printer is energy star compliant which will minimize the amount of electricity this thing will suck up.
The Not So Good:
I can't really call these features bad, except for possibly the first one. The standard included memory is 32MB, which is really not enough memory for a printer these days. This can cause delays in printing large PDFs or when multiple computers have requested print jobs. It would be a wise idea to boost the memory on this printer to increase the speed of processing requests and the ability to hold them in memory.
Also, the paper trays are a little small for such a high volume printer. At an average of say 20ppm, this printer runs out of paper in just a little under an hour. I have seen this happen many times in the computer lab and they frequently send people around to refill the trays.
I have not experienced trying to manage this printer directly, so I cannot comment on that aspect, But they rarely seem to be in trouble in the computer lab where I use them. The last thing I would add is that when the printers have been in energy saving mode for a while or they are warming up for the first use of the day, it does take about 3-5 minutes before they are ready to go.
Summary:
This is a great printer for what it is designed to do: Print out documents and tables at a very fast rate. Do not expect to use this printer for color printing or printing pictures and you should be very happy with it.
