The Bottom Line: I'd buy it if I could afford it.
Review: I only wish I own one. I use these every day at work, and in a previous incarnation (job) was part of the team responsible for keeping them up and running (among other duties.)

Real Laser Printer Workhorse

The Bottom Line: I would purchase it again if the price is right. If you need a faster, larger machine, check out the HP LaserJet 4250/4350n printers.

Ease of Installation

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this printer over any of the other small laser printers that I work with. HP is available for customer support and that's important.
Review: The setup on these printers are as easy as they come. All of the disposable items are clearly marked and easy to remove. The software setup is just as easy as the hardware setup. You put in the CD and off you go. There is not a lot of guesswork...

Above Average Printer

The Bottom Line: If you have a large company that needs lots of printing jobs in a short amount of time, the HP LaserJet 4050 is your choice :)
Review: We have two of these in the library at school, and they print really fast. I have been using them for three or four months now, and the only complaint I can think of is that it runs out of toner pretty often. I have seen probably 500 - 800 pages...

A tough workhorse of a printer.

The Bottom Line: You can feel safe buying one of these. If they can survive a year at a college campus, they can survive your office much more easily.
Review: I used to work as a computer repair technician at a college campus, which used a bunch of HP laser printers. Of all the printers I worked with, the LaserJet 4050 was my favorite. They took constant student (and worker!) abuse, and rarely broke down...

The Bottom Line: HP LaserJet 4050 makes a perfect standard local printer or even a standard network printer for any office. HP keeps a great thing going.
