Great print, small printer

In my job as a computer service technician/sales rep for a small service company, I have seen and also used many different laser printers from several different manufactures, and by far Hewlett Packard makes the best quality laser printers. They continue build quality and new features into every printer series they create.

This 2100 series laser printer is just another example of there desire to lead the industry in the designing of laser printers. HP has a series of laser printers that are designed for specific applications from very small workloads such as personal laser printers all the way up to a high volume departmental laser printer.

The 2100 series laser printer is designed for a small office/home office, with it's 15,000 page duty cycle, which means (pages per month). The reason that the duty cycle is so important in the operation of a laser printer is, because a laser printer uses rubber rollers to pickup and transport the paper throughout the inside of the printer. As the paper moves across the rollers small amounts of paper dust and other contaminants accumulates on the rollers and eventually the roller if not cleaned will start jamming and lead to printer down time. So if you try and over load the printer (exceed it's duty cycle) you could cause the printer to start failing and possibly permanently damage it.

That is why it is very important when choosing a laser printer for your specific application, always check the printers duty cycle to see if can handle you print load. To often that is ignored trying to save money and in the long run, it ends up costing more to repair or possibly replace the printer.

This 2100 series laser printer, has superior print quality and print speed, at 1200 dpi (dots per inch) and 10 pages per minute, it makes a really good printer for a small law firm/or doctors office.

The HP 2100 series printers come standard with 4 MB of memory for printing of large files, the large amount of memory allows bigger files to be sent to the printer all at once, making the printing faster instead of tying up the computer constantly sending data. They also come standard with a paper capacity of 350 sheets of paper and up to 10 envelopes can be loaded into the printer. Optional features include up to a maximum of 52 MB of memory for even larger files and another paper tray can be added to increase the paper capacity to 650 sheets of paper.

The HP 2100 series laser printers can be connected to a single PC or they can be connected to a network using a HP JetDirect internal print server. Either way they are an excellent choice for a small office/home office.

In conclusion, I would recommend the HP 2100 laser printer to anyone looking for a light duty laser printer, where the quality of the print is a must.
