Reliable and Simple
Pros:
Comes with ink, very easily set up, lightweight, modern style.
Cons:
Like most printers, does not come with USB cable.
The Bottom Line:
Buy this printer if you are on a budget, and don't need fancy extras. If you do need regular use of a copier/fax, upgrade to a 3-in-1.

Author's Review
I bought this printer because I needed a very basic printer to print my college assignments and notes. I did not need anything fancy, just a user-friendly printer that would print notes on standard white paper. I paid $39.99 before tax at a local big-box store.
The Deskjet is an inkjet printer that prints 10-19ppm. It has the capability to handle print jobs requiring envelopes, labels, photo paper, transparencies, and even borderless media. The printer has an 80 sheet standard input. It works for both the PC and Mac OS. In the box, you will find the printer, power supply, power cord, installation software, tri-color cartridge, and reference guide. The printer has a standard 1 year warranty.
The HP Deskjet D2430 is very easily assembled, and you can have it printing 20 minutes after opening the box. All you need to supply is the USB cable. The printer has an easy user interface, and allows you to cancel print jobs with the press of a button. The Deskjet comes with 1-5 mL tri-color cartridge, although you can use a black cartridge if you don't need color prints. The black cartridge, for future reference, is HP #21. The cartridge snaps easily into place and the printer takes care of the rest. The printing quality on this printer is excellent, and the printing speed is superb. It prints my notes in seconds. Albeit a little noisy, I find this printer to have no major flaws. I think it is excellent for someone on a budget who needs a simple machine with a clean finish.
