I recently got tired of fighting with the old Lexmark printer I had and decided it was time to get a new one. I'd had an Office Max gift card that I'd had sitting around for awhile, so took a ride there one day to see what they had in a reasonable price range.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this nice HP 825C on sale for $49.99. I liked the attractive design of it and of course, the price. I looked at a few others, but kept going back to the HP.
I was home with my new printer a few minutes later and thought "now or never" I connected the printer in about 2 minutes flat and the software installed itself within another 5 minutes. The software was easy to install, it basically installed all by itself and I just monitored it. Thats perfect for me, the easier the better.
Putting the ink in was very simple, the cartridge simply snapped into place, and putting the paper in was just as simple. One of the problems I'd had with the Lexmark was getting the paper in "just so" so it would actually work. It was a constant source of aggravation for me, and this was so much easier.
The price of ink cartridges for this printer is very reasonable. I found them on ebay for $9.99 and I believe they're $19.99 in Wal*Mart.
I've had this printer 2 weeks now and I've had no problem at all with it. It prints very fast, I've had no paper jams and I'm very happy with my new purchase. I'd recommend this printer to anyone whos looking for a first printer, or for someone like me who mainly uses her printer to print out resumes, cover letters and various web pages.
I've yet to try printing out any pictures on it, so I can't comment on that, but I will update when I do.
