An All-In One That Delivers

The Bottom Line: This printer is an excellent option for home or small business use. It delivers dependable basic functions at a very fair price.
I received my PIXMA MX310 printer as a 2007 Christmas gift, having just started a self-employment enterprise which requires a fair amount of printing, scanning and faxing. The Canon has all of these capabilities, as well as copying, of course.
I am not a techie and I do not pay too much attention to specifications and fine product details and settings. I just want a product that works, given a reasonable effort on my part to understand and carry out the set-up directions. This printer fit the bill in that respect. The software ran smoothly and installed without a hitch. I was able to connect the printer to an existing phone and set the fax to override the telephone after a set number of rings. I have been able to print, scan, fax and copy with no problems. I especially like the performance of the printer and copier paper feeds, which have worked flawlessly without feeding excess paper, a major problem with my previous printer, a Dell. Black and color images are sharp and clear, although I have not tried to print photographs. I wanted an all-in-one printer that would perform its intended functions without too much emotional involvement on my part and that is just what this printer has delivered.
