All in one Multifunction office Printer

The Bottom Line: In overall this all in one Canon MX310 is very nice for a small office and home office use provided your printing needs are minimal.
Canon PIXMA MX310 is an All-In-One Multifunction Office Printer designed for small businesses. It is a printer, a scanner, a Fax machine, telephone all in a compact size.
Printer
The print is the fastest I've seen in a multifunction equipment like this. It comes with a black and color ink cartridge. There are no separate cartridges for the three color. This is expected for an economic equipment like this one.
The highest printing color resolution is 4800x1200 color dpi. The quality of the print is good. But I will still prefer Walmart because of the cost of ink. It takes slightly less than a minute to print a 4"x6". The black print resolution is up to 600 x 600 dpi.
Scanner
The scanning function is very nice. The software that comes with the scanner is superb. It allows you to directly make a pdf out of the scanned copy. This is very good to stored signed copies of legal documents. The maximum Optical resolution is 1200 x 2400 dpi. I have found it very good for documents scanning but it is not perfect for picture scanning.
I found some small white dots when scanning a 4" x 6" photo.
Fax
This all in one stuff has a phone and fax facility. The Telephone line can be connected to this all in one printer. We have used this for dedicated Fax line. However it can be used as phone / fax line. We may also set the priority to phone so that the fax activated after, say, 4 rings.
Price
For $99, I guess, this is one of the best price performance offers from Canon. You will however like to use the printer sparingly as the ink may be expensive.
Other Features
The Canon MX310 is capable of printing wirelessly right from a PictBridge enabled camera. However I have not tried it. It may be a useful feature for someone willing to try it.
