HP Produces Nothing but Crap now

I bought this product to go along with my new HP computer because I have had good luck in the past with HP. Their print quality has always been stellar. But... since that time at my office our HP fax & HP printers have been nothing but trouble. After less than 2 years my home printer, the HP 6980 has now gone down also.

I called tech support & was told it is a "common" hardware issue. Hmmmm common means it happens frequently so I guess HP is putting out a lot of these clunkers. I expect a printer to last longer than 17 months of non-heavy use. Of course my warranty has expired so HP tech support would not help me troubleshoot. They offered me a new printer for $149 or I could pay them $35 to get phone support. Considering the woman said it was a common hardware issue I did not want to spend $35 for someone to tell me the thing is broken. I nicely told them I had no intention of ever buying another HP product so I would pass on the $149 offer.

After my experience with this printer, our office HP products, & my HP desktop (which has never worked from day one & tech support could not diagnose so that was a $1K wasted bummer) I bought at the same time as the printer I will never buy another HP product. HP used to be good but those days are over.

The print quality was good but the print quality is good from many other manufacturers also. I will not waste time here saying the thing worked OK for 17 months, it did. I am only here to warn people of the decrease in HP quality control & warn others off from purchasing their products unless you have the money to replace your whole system every year because they don't last much longer than that. Booo for HP.
