The Best for Special Occasion

Yes, I am Cognac drinker. Ever since my friends and I decided to switch from Vodka to Cognac back in college, I have experienced a true appreciation for this type of liquor. We have drunk it for various occasions and in different forms. There is a great feeling when you take a sip of good cognac.

Description
To be considered a cognac it has to be manufactured in France and only in specific regions, otherwise it is simply a Brandy or Armaniac. Brandies and Armaniacs are just as good, but not exactly a real thing. It is just like comparing a Cuban cigar to all the rest. It tastes the same, but to a true drinker has a slight difference.

This Particular Cognac
Hennessy XO is truly one of the better cognacs you can buy for its smoothness, quality and price. I found stores where you can buy this stuff for about $90.00 per bottle, which is not cheap, but better price then anywhere else. When Hennessy XO touches your lips you do not feel harshness or burning sensation as you do when you are drinking other cognacs even in the same class. It is very gentle and the aroma, if you prefer cognacs, is one of the better ones.

I have tried Hennessy at different levels and forms. I have drunk VS, which is the cheapest form of Hennessy. It is good dry cognac and for the money is one of the best, except for maybe Courvoiser. In the cheaper cognac market those two are the ones of my choice for the taste and quality. Even though Courvoiser is a great cognac, when it comes to VS I prefer Hennessy. Hennessy is a lot dryer then Courvoiser.

Then there is VSOP, which is not bad considering that it costs you a lot less then XO. The last but not least I have tried XO and if you can afford it (in my case, I only had a couple of bottles) then this is definitely in the class of its own. As I have mentioned before Hennessy tends to be a dryer cognac then Courvoiser and therefore it carries over into the highly priced brands as well. I enjoy a dry cognac a lot more when it comes to sipping.

Usage
The best way to enjoy any kind of cognac is to sip it from the snifter at the room temperature. The cognac such as this one you would not want to consume in any other way.

You can put some hot (steaming hot) water in the glass and then poor it out, before you put the Cognac in. Another way is to steam up the glass in the Cappuccino machine, to make it hot. When the glass is hot and the cognac is at the room temperature, you will truly enjoy the flavor of the liquor.

Try drinking this stuff while eating fine chocolate. It brings out the taste of chocolate. The mix in your mouth of chocolate and Hennessy XO will create an incredible sensation.

How about those cigars? When you dip a tip, which goes into your mouth, into the glass of Hennessy XO, it will bring out the taste of the cigar as well as the flavor of cognac. There is definitely a benefit of smoking a cigar with this cognac as oppose to others.

Medical Facts
Good cognacs are known to eliminate headaches, considering the fact that you will sip it not pound on it. Yes, it is a medical fact. Cognac, especially good one, will widen your blood vessels, which therefore will eliminate a headache.

As oppose to Vodka, which I still prefer from time to time, cognac is guaranteed to make you feel great in the morning. There is no hangover effect, considering the consumption amount of course.

Final Thought
If your financial situation allows you to splurge, well then splurge with the best stuff on earth. If you are going to enjoy a quite evening by yourself or with a company, pour yourself a nice snifter of Hennessy XO and enjoy. There is nothing more soothing to calm you down, relax you and make you enjoy the evening then this fine cognac. If you are an avid cognac drinker, I would strongly recommend Hennessy XO, but if you are not, then I would suggest a nice bottle of Courvoiser.
