The Bottom Line: HEAT is a film that is about many themes, and they all come down to one cop and one robber on the LX Tarmac. Epic Film.
Review: Michael Mann already had a lot of critical acclaim from the 80's hit series "Miami Vice" and more recentley the movies "The Insider" and "Collateral". In the middle of it, the core, is the strongest of them all...HEAT.

Hottest there is.

The Bottom Line: There is no better movie for crime, some of the best work of all involved.
Review: Michael Mann has come a long way since Miami Vice, and to me he will never be any better than this. How he sold the studios on a three hour heist movie I will never know, but I'm grateful to someone.

The Bottom Line: I'll bet this movie improves after each viewing once you can follow the story, but a truly great movie is good on the first viewing.
Review: It's a shame "Heat" is not the fantastic crime movie you'd expect it to be. It has so much potential to be an epic and exciting film, especially considering the all-star cast, the director and the premise. But the film is a bit too epic for its own...
