In this corner... Pacino, and in this corner... DeNiro

The Bottom Line: A clash of the titans in the acting world with a director that pulls of a winner.
A band of professional bank robbers try to stay one step ahead of the LAPD.
Michael Mann is one of my favorite directors. The style in which he films are unique to their class. Take Miami Vice for instance. Not the most realistic of cop shows, but it was a trend setter in style at that time in the 80's.
This had to have been, without a doubt, a dream match up of actors in a movie. Pacino vs. DeNiro! It's like your dream boxing match to not only see these two in the same movie, but to see them face off against each other.
DeNiro does a superb job playing the master thief, while Pacino plays the cop that is trying to collar him and his gang. The way how they play against one another is just so entertaining to watch. My favorite scene is the diner scene where Pacino and DeNiro "chat".
The rest of the cast are a group of very talented actors that give much support to the film. Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, Danny Trejo, and Ashley Judd are great additions.
The shootout in the streets are just an insane action sequence, and the careful planning of their jobs and escape routes keep you interested. And while this is not that kind of movie where you hope the criminals win, you can't help but feel for DeNiro in the end.
