Author's Review
I think this is a really good magazine. Even better because it was a free subscription. However, I would not recommend it if I did not think it was a good magazine that gives lots of helpful information.
I have had the January/February issue for about a week or so and just finished reading it last night. I will now summarize what I think is good in this magazine.
In the beginning of the magazine there is a column entitled "Just Ask Me" where the editor in chief answers questions of the readers, and I had a questioned answered without even asking. Why our nails can get white spots on them. The answer is because they have been traumatized in some way. I never knew that. When it comes to things like that I just don't know.
Next, there is a new survey out of Washington about the percentage of people who was their hands. I know this may seem gross, but I think it's important as to cleanliness and germs. They broke it down into major cities: Chicago - 83%; San Francisco - 80%; Atlanta - 64%; New Orleans - 64%; New York - 49% and over all for women - 75% and overall for men - 58% I think this is a useful survey because when you don't wash your hands you are spreading germs.
Another article was how to get rid of dry hands in the winter. You should use a mild soap, nothing with detergent in it, also you should use a gentle exfoliator twice a week. You should also switch moisturizers to those with ingredients such as shea butter, petrolatum, and cholesterol as these ingredients keep the natural moisture in the skin and prevents water loss. You should also use it more than once a day.
Also included was three diets most of us are familiar with. Which one would be best for you. It gave a break down of what it consisted of, and a success story for each. These diets included Low Carb - Atkins Diet, High Protein - The Zone, and Low fat - Weight Watchers.
It also included the 10 medical advances of 2000 among many other useful articles to be read.
