Bad install works as indicated

I have had the card purchased at Amazon for about two weeks. I have not yet tried Clear QAM, I am only using it for analog. I can get the Comcast analog stations 2 through 99 with problem. I mainly use it to record shows to watch later. I was using a VCR but it broke, new VCR's with tuner cost in excess of $250 so this was a cheaper option.

I am using XP Pro which does not have MCE so I have to use Wintv. I first downloaded version 6 from the manufacturer site. Went through driver and software install. The application would freeze when detecting analog cable. After about 15 restarts of the computer and using the included uninstall application and removing all directories manually remaining on the machine I was able to get the version that came with card (version 5) to detect the analog stations. This took about 4 hours total of installing and uninstalling multiple times.

The Wintv scheduler works with TitanTV to set recording and can be done remotely. Unfortunatley Titan does not keep a record of what you previously set to record. It will let you select a show and set it for record. It is not Tivo.

I am using the card on a Sepron 3500 processor with 1.5 meg of ram and speed does not appear to be an issue. I am using a 17 inch crt monitor. Quality is ok but not great on full screen. I have not figured out how to change the quality settings when setting up a future recording. The scheduling application uses the Windows XP scheduler.

I have found the software to be a bit complicated for a newbie to TV on a computer. There are 4 pieces of software. WinTV which allows you to watch TV and watch shows previously recorded. The Wintv scheduler which allows you to manually set a show to record (very similar to setting a show on a vcr), Titan TV which is basically TV guide on the internet, and Titan TV scheduler which periodically (every 15 minutes) goes out to the Titan site to see if you selected any shows to be recorded.
