The Bottom Line: An excellent continuation of The Silence Of The Lambs and a great film (if you don't mind a lot of blood and gore).
Hannibal takes place present day in Florence, Italy and in parts of the United States. Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter, living under an alias (for obvious reasons), has been free now for 10 years. However an upgrade from his previous cell, Hannibal is bored from his retirement and hasn't enjoyed any of his favorite foods for quite sometime. Still obsessed with now 10 year veteran of the FBI, Clarice Starling, Hannibal decides to write to her. Her letter re-opens the files of Hannibal Lecter in the U.S., meanwhile inspector Pazzi of the FBI in Florence is after Hannibal as well. Not only are two precincts after him, but Hannibal has his forth victim, billionaire and hideously disfigured, Mason Verger after him also. However, Mason's plans for Hannibal quite differ from the FBI's. Once Hannibal "takes care of business" in Florence, he returns to the United States only to cause more chaos wherever he goes. Not to get your hopes up, but the movie's best scene is the ending. But do you really think that I'm going to give that away? I don't think so. Looks like you're gonna have to see it yourself!
