Wow I really can cook !

A few months back I went shopping and replaced my slow cooker a.k.a. crockpot. I was simply amazed at all the different slow cookers they have out now. There are so many sizes and different shapes now. Back when I got my first one the selections were more limited.

I picked out the Hamilton Beach Hamilton Beach6.5 Quart MealMaker Oval Slow Cooker . It just caught my eye and the price was right. When I got it home and opened the box I was very happy.

1).Removable pot- This is like a new toy to me because I am becoming a more avid cook now that I have three kids and do not work. I can not afford to got out to dinner as much. Any way to get back on track here, the removable pot is wonderful. It makes cleaning so much easier as well as serving meals at the table.
2).Three settings-There is a high, low, and keep warm settings. I usually cook on high if I am getting a late start, other than that I start on low and cook all day.
3).Lid protector-Mine came with a strap that protects the lid when storing in the cabinet or when travelling to a get together with it. The protector is a white stretchable strap that extends handle to handle. This is wonderful if you are carrying a meal somewhere. The lid stays in place.
4).Carrying case-TheHamilton Beach Hamilton Beach6.5 Quart MealMaker Oval Slow Cooker I bought also came with a burgundy carrying case. It keeps the meal warm and is very convenient for travelling.

I have learned that when I use my crockpot to spray the inside with a non stick spray before cooking. This keeps the meals from sticking to the pot. Also makes clean up much easier. I am very happy with my Hamilton Beach Hamilton Beach6.5 Quart MealMaker Oval Slow Cooker .

The following is a meal I made the other night in it that went over so well with my family:

Take about 6-8 pork chops and place them in the slow cooker. Then add two cans of cream of celery and one can of cream of mushroom. That is it. Set the cooker on low and cook all day. I cooked mine for about 7 hours. When you are ready to serve, make some rice, and wah lah- you have a nice delicious meal.
