I bought my first Hamilton Beach K2070 Cordless Electric Kettle to take on an extended vacation. I am a huge tea drinker and can’t stand to use the pots in hotel room as the tea always has a “coffee” taste! I have since bought 7 others. It is a great little kettle!
BUYING AND USING THE KETTLE
I have seen the Hamilton Beach K2070 Cordless Electric Kettle can be bought both online and at department stores, priced from $9.99 to $20.00. It is also sold as Proctor Silex K2070 Cordless Electric Kettle In fact, people may have trouble locating this kettle at Epinions if they are looking for it under Proctor Silex since it is only listed under Hamilton Beach even though they are the same.
I like the compact design of the kettle. It is white with a blue swish up the side marking the water-level and measures approximately 9-1/6 by 5 by 7-1/3 inches.
To use the kettle you simply flip up the lid and pour the water in. It does have a minimum (around 1½ cups) and maximum (1 quart) both marked on the side. Once filled you pull the pot in and flip the switch which causes the light to come on. Soon after the water boils (just a couple of minutes) the kettle automatically turns itself off. It comes with an 180-day limited warranty.
MY EXPERIENCES
My little vacation kettle has been used many, many times in hotels, on cruises etc. for a couple of years. One time we were stuck at the airport for 13 hours and by late evening all the food places had closed down. My daughter was STARVING and “just wanted something chocolate.” I on the other hand, was pushing granola and dried fruit we brought over something from the vending machine. We compromised and she ate the food from our backpack and I used the Hamilton Beach K2070 Cordless Electric Kettle to make her made her a cup of hot chocolate. This of course woke up two of her sisters who suddenly needed some too! Funny thing, was people around us offered to buy some - I could have made a bundle! We keep the kettle in our pre-packed bag so we always have it with us when we travel.
I also keep one in the guest room with a selection of teas and biscuits and a set of mugs. That way the guests can have a cup and a light bite either before retiring or after they wake up without having to leave their room. It gets used every time! Three of them then asked for one for gift at a later date.

I have used my Hamilton Beach K2070 Cordless Electric Kettles many times and have never had a single problem. The great thing is that if it were to break I could/would just pick another one up for less than $10! In fact I just picked up 2 more, yesterday - one for a dorm room and the other for a friend on bedrest for three months! Right now is an excellent time to get them as Amazon is having a buy 3 get one free in their Home and Garden section. I picked up 2 other items that were also $9.99 each and with the FREE shipping, it comes to $29.97 shipped - making them less than $7.50 each! Such a deal!!
This great little kettle gets 5 stars for me!
