Very loud boiler and drips water!

I love the look of this kettle and the fact that it's stainless steel, however this kettle is pretty loud as it boils and it actually makes a rattling sound. Also, when I fill it with water to the fill-line, it ALWAYS overflows onto my counter top as it comes to a boil, plus the pouring spout always drips boiling water as I pour which is a major danger if my toddler is around! I have the kettle only 3 months and I am buying another brand instead. Not sure if I have a faulty kettle, but I would NOT recommend it to others.
