The H/B Stand Mixer is the better of the two

I bought a H/B Stand Mixer several years ago for the specific activity of making bread/baked goods in my home.  I have used the mixer at least once a week, ever since.  Also, I have the regular opportunity to use a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer of similar size, power and capacity.  The K/A mixer is a poor design, almost a chore to work with, when compared to the H/B.

H/B: quiet motor (K/A: noisy).  While this may not seem like much, the K/A sounds like the gears are grinding themselves to death. I think of bread-making as a peaceful, enjoyable experience. 

H/B: locks in the open position to scrape down dough (K/A: locks down only).  Tip up the mixer motor with the dough on the hook. The H/B stays there so you can scrape down the dough ball.  The K/A falls down, you have to hold it up with one hand while dough-scraping.

H/B: wide top mixing bowl (K/A: too narrow).  In my bread-making, I'm adding flour with the unit running.  The gap between the hook top shield and the bowl rim is wide enough for easy additions.  I never feel like I'm going to get the ladel spoon caught in the hook or spill the flour while aiming fore the narrow gap of the K/A. 

H/B: adequate diameter dough hook top shield (K/A: far too broad, hard to scrape down narrow bowl).  What's worse is that the flour hits the K/A dough hook shield and gets flung out of the mixer onto me, the mixer, the floor and the bench. 

H/B: smooth surface dough hook (K/A: ribbed, hard to scrape).  The ridges on the K/A hook seem to hold the sdticky bread dough, just time-consuming.
H/B: good "mix" speed (K/A: too fast, tosses flour out).  The H/B stirs the dough and the flour incorporation is steady and consistent.

In hindsight, several years of experience show me that I bought the best.
