Wide Slot pop up toaster and Toaster Oven in One

We always wanted a toaster oven, but did not want to have another appliance on the kitchen counter. The Hamilton Beach 22708 2 slice toaster/ toaster oven was absolutely perfect for us.

Cost/Value
I paid around $30 for this item, and in my opinion that is a great deal for one appliance that does the job of two.

Look and Feel
I Purchased this item a few months back. We have the black one, although I believe it comes in either colors. It is black on the front and back but the sides and top are a stainless steel looking material. I liked black because our appliances are all black. It would probably go nicely with stainless as well. We previously had a white toaster and it stuck out like a sore thumb. The black toaster looks smart on our countertop and is easy to keep clean and good looking.

Size
The item does not take up much space on your counter. I am able to put it up against the counter edge and it is approx 16" wide, 8" tall, and 8" deep.

Toasting Experience
We really like the toaster/toaster oven so far. To use the toaster it is pretty much like a normal toaster. You can put one or two slices of bread in the top, set the darkness setting, and push the lever down. If you want to pop the toast up sooner, lift the lever. Sometimes the toast does not exactly toast evenly but generally it does a decent job.

Using the Toaster Oven
To use as a toaster oven there is a lever that closes the top. then you set the temperature (max 450), let it preheat and then bake as you normally would in any toaster oven. You can use the baking tray that comes with it or place things directly on the rack. Be careful not to forget about the toaster oven being on because there is no auto shut off on the oven operation.

Recommendations
This Toaster / Toaster oven is perfect for one or two people. If you have a large family it probably is not the best choice. Our kids are grown so we are not making large amounts of toast or snacks so it is perfect for us. If you have kids in college and they are allowed to have appliances like this in their room, this would be a nice size item for something like that.
