My favorite Halloween movie
Pros:
Strong lead characters, some very suspenseful scenes
Cons:
The plot may be too far out there for some viewers
The Bottom Line:
This movie may not be for everyone, but it's worth giving a shot incase you enjoy it as much as I do

Author's Review
I know this is everyone's least favorite halloween it seems, but hear me out.
We start off right where Halloween 4 left off, with Michael Myers being shot a million times and falling into the hole. One odd thing though is that they throw dynamite into the hole in this movie, though they didn't show that at the end of part 4. Oh well, who doesn't love an extra explosion thrown in.
So Michael Myers crawls to a river, floats down stream, and is taken in by a nice man with a parrot. Michael collapses at this point. Is it from being shot so many times, or maybe after Halloween he has to hybernate until next Halloween? That's just the horror movie nerd in me over thinking.
Cut to Jamie, now in a mental hospital. She has lost all ability to speak from what she did to her stepmother in part 4.
Skip to a year later, when Michael wakes up. Jamie is at this point linked to Michael, and knows that he is coming.
Dr. Loomis is crazed at this point, and is pretty much ready to rough up Jamie to get her to talk about Michael. I'd say this is also his best acting in the series, as you can really see the intensity ready to erupt. He's ready to do whatever it takes to make this end.
We are introduced to some new teenagers, though one in particular stands out. Tina, the sassy dark haired girl. This is one of the only movies that actress was ever in, but she makes quite an impression.
Rachel is set to go off with her parents for Halloween, so Tina starts to take over as the big sister role. Given, she isn't perfect but I like her.
Once Halloween night hits, the movie really takes off and doesn't let up. Jamie this time goes out of her way to try and save the ones she loves, as Michael tries to use them to lure her to him.
I really like that a role written for such a young girl is so strong. Going into the end of the movie, Jamie has really grown into a strong lead who can not only defend herself but is willing to risk it all to help others.
There are some very suspenseful scenes in this movie, and pretty much anyone can die so you never know what's coming next.
Also, the psychic link between Jamie and Michael is used very well. Looking back on Halloween 4, there are several moments that foreshadow a link between them in my opinion.
When she sees the ambulance outside towards the start of part 4. When she is in the store and looks into the mirror. When she puts on the mask and imitates him at the end of part 4. It makes sense to me.
And the Myer's house at this point is a castle pretty much. It's huge, and perfectly creepy. Interestingly enough a different house was used in pretty much every movie, though I would say the one in part 5 is the most memorable.
There is even a scene where they try to lure Michael by having someone reinact what Judith was doing from the original Halloween before he killed her.
I really enjoy this movie, though it is not for everyone. The pacing may be slow at times, but I think it goes back to the original of really building to a great climax.
