Great for a tiny kitchen!

Date of Review: Jan 1, 2006

The Bottom Line:  If you need more space in your kitchen, then this is the right dishwasher for you!
Great Space-Saver, Good Price

If you have a tiny kitchen like mine, you're always looking to save a few inches of space. That usually means no built-in dishwasher, since you need that space for cupboards. Some of us opt for the portable dishwasher, which can be rolled away when not in use. I tried that, but I found myself moving it back and forth as I puttered around my kitchen. First, I had to move it away from the sink so I could rinse out my coffee cup, and then I had to roll it away from the refrigerator so I could get some milk out, and so on and so forth. This game of musical chairs get old, real fast!

OK, so after my portable dishwasher bit the big one, a couple days after the warranty expired, the repair people told me that it would cost me more to fix it than to replace it. So I went to Amazon dot com and looked for dishwashers, and I find this little gem! And it was only $159! (Shipping was $23.99, and sales tax was $14.96, for a grand total of $198.24.)

My little dishwasher takes up less than two feet of space on my counter, and it cleans those dishes like a little trooper! Of course, it doesn't hold too many dishes at once, but I live alone, so that isn't much of an issue. Besides, it saves tons of water, compared to hand-washing, and it's much easier on my hands. Pots and pans are the biggest issue, since it's pretty much full with one sauce pan and one frying pan, or two of each. On the other hand, it gets dishes and pots and pans really clean.

Really Clean, Really!

Sometimes, hand-washing simply will not do. Maybe you have a glass bowl that needs to be extra clean and shiny, or maybe you let the dog lick your plates, so you want them to be extra sanitary after cleaning. The dishwasher is the answer. It uses much hotter water than you could stand with your hands, so it gets things cleaner and rinses the soap off better. The shower action of the dishwasher also helps to get things extra clean and extra shiny.

Save!

I'm saving money and easing the strain on the environment by giving up hand-washing and plastic plates and cups. I'm also saving time, since I can do something else while this cute little machine is washing my dishes for me. Moreover, my skin is better off without having to shove my hands into dishwater ever day. I'm a happy camper.

Remember, it's a little cute thing

This is not your big, full-size dishwasher, sturdy and heavy and built to last. However, if you take care of it, keep it clean and avoid overloading it, this little machine will last at least two years. And it does come with a two-year warranty, just in case.

Be careful about how many dishes you put into it at one time. Make sure that small items do not fall into the bottom, as they could damage the mechanism.

Buy it!

If you need to save space in our kitchen, but you still want the convenience of an automatic dishwasher, this is what you want. You can't beat the price, and it's dependable.

NOTE: It comes only in white, but it's a really attractive little appliance, and it adds a touch of class to my tiny kitchen.
