Author's Review
I was looking for a ceramic heater and purchased the Honeywell based upon a friend's recommendation. My experience turned out to be a very negative one. I turned on the heater, carefully following instructions and using the automatic temp control mode.
I set the thermostat on 70 degrees. The room temp at the time was 65 degrees. The heater started and the oscillator, fan and heat seemed to be operating effectively. When the room temp reached 70 degrees, the heater turned off as instructions said it would. So far, so good.
However, as the room cooled, instead of the temperature indicator decreasing as the room cooled, it showed the temperature rising. It rose up to 74 degrees while the fan and heat were off and as the room progressively cooled getting down to 64 degrees as indicated on a separate and accurate room thermometer. Consequently, the heater never restarted as it should have at 68 degrees, two degrees below the thermostat setting of 70.
The heater indicator continued incorrectly showing 74 degrees as the room continued to cool to a low of 64. I unplugged the heater, let it stand overnight, tried it the next day with the same negative result. Unfortunately, Home depot had no more heaters in stock. Consequently, I was unable to try a replacement and had to settle for a refund.
