Michael Jackson Allows His "Present" To Screw Up His "HIStory"

Date of Review:  Aug 28, 2004
The Bottom Line: "HIStory" aims to be spectacular but just manages to be overblown and disappointing. buy the hits separately, don't go near the disc of new material.
Review: What makes a legend? Is it raw talent? The ability to be groundbreaking? A knack for controversy? The right collaborators and influences? Or some crazy stew comprising all of these elements? Whatever the combination, even the least sympathetic music...

Michael tells you his history as well as HIStory!

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is the music for the Past, Present And Future--As you can see!
Review: This is collection of work comes from the most successful albums in music history. Michael is the single most awarded entertainer the world has ever known. As you listen to and enjoy his music, I'm sure you'll agree that we, his fans, are the ones...

Where it all began W/O - Closet Jacko Fan Comes Out

Date of Review:  Apr 14, 2003
The Bottom Line: The best pop there is, but still just pop
Review: I must admit, for the purposes of this W/O I have bent the rules a bit. I loved to buy tapes as a child, none of which I still own, and I honestly have no idea what my first tape was. It was probably Michael Bolton, Rick Astley, or even worse, Jive...

Why Couldn't Michael Jackson Consign his Megalomania To HIStory?

Date of Review:  Mar 23, 2008
The Bottom Line: The combined "HIStory" package is a passable offering, although the discrepancy in quality between the old hits and new material shows Michael Jackson on a worrying decline.
Review: In keeping with Michael Jackson's established work pattern, four years passed between the issue of his 1991 multi-platinum effort "Dangerous" and the follow-up "HIStory" – a time in which his career endured some major disturbances. With allegations...

History of Michael Jackson: HiStory Is Not A Monument In Music

Date of Review:  Jul 31, 2002
The Bottom Line: This was a long awaited album, delivered in instances, but not in whole.
Review: MJ's mid 90's release was not without a ton of advertising. The most memorable was a commercial where people were crying and clamoring for MJ, only to show a humongous statue of the man. It gave the release a special feel, but as you know, it's the...

Michael Jackson's HIStory - Egotistical, Angry, and Average

Date of Review:  Sep 2, 2009
The Bottom Line: Don't bother.
Review:
The time period leading up to the release of HIStory still resonates in my mind to this day. Michael Jackson's Dangerous was an awesome album, some would argue his best, back in 1991. In the four years following the album, the media would hound...

HIStory: He's Mad As Heck And He's Not Gonna Take It Anymore

Date of Review:  Jan 23, 2001
The Bottom Line: HIStory is a combination of a greatest-hits album and 15 songs that are just dripping with angst. It's the consummate album of Michael Jackson's music.
Review: "To be great is to be misunderstood."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

Emerson's words of truth really ring true here. Michael Jackson is without question the undisputed "King Of Pop." On the flip side, however, his greatness has made him the...

For the hardcore Michael J. fans

Date of Review:  May 10, 2000
Review: Michael Jackson. Although he hasn't been too popular in recent years, his music has always been awesome-- from the days of the Jackson 5 to being the 'King of Pop'.

This two CD album is a collection of his hit songs with a few others added...

Michaels back at his best.

Date of Review:  Apr 1, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you didn't like this album then you should buy Dangerous, it is Michael Jacksons best album. HIStory is very good though.
Review: Michael Jackson is such an inventure of sound, such a great accomplished musician all in his own right, and without doubt the greatest song writer and singer the world has ever seen.
The album HIStory is a 30 track two CD set. On CD is Michaels...
