HGW-308 is the WINNER!

by   russwill ,  Nov 14, 2005
Pros: great price, cheap to run, instant heat, light, silent, and it looks good too.
Cons: On/Off switch difficult to use (safety boot), hard to see the LEDs on the side.
The Bottom Line: This is the best there is at 110vac-12Amp!
Review: Gas costs TOO much! This is cheap, clean, safe heat! I wasn’t too sure about the “Micathermic” part (I figured it was just a new word), but the thing is *NOT* a regular radiator/heater. In fact I do believe it’s much better than the red-hot wire or ...

by   curlylocks1014 ,  Oct 29, 2005
Pros: many
Cons: none yet
Review: its 35 degrees outside, i live in a mobile home, and my living room is 15 x 20 and poorly insulated.. the temp in my living room right now is 65 so this little heater is a powerhouse! its the only heat i have on. it does take time for the entire room ...

It's OK

by   wes1111 ,  Nov 17, 2005
Pros: yeah
Cons: yeah
Review: it's 19 degrees outside, the unit is about 7 feet from the desk and sofa. it feels like 75 at the desk and sofa. it is and has been on a low setting all day. temp reads 59 directly behind the heater. the other rooms are freezing. it makes noises like ...

A mixed review

by   disrael62 ,  Dec 8, 2005
Pros: attractive, light weight and portable, quiet
Cons: NO numeric thermostat (major bummer), does it work well???
The Bottom Line: Without a numeric (readout) thermostat, I would defer a recommendation for the HGW-308. Conceptually a good idea, but I don't know if the product actually delivers the goods.
Review: I have mixed feelings about the Soleus HGW-308: On the positive side, I definitely like the aesthetics of the unit. It is very light weight, making it easy to move from one part of the house to another. It feels very stable when sitting on the ...

We threw ours in the garbage

by   kcadnas ,  Sep 25, 2006
Pros: The concept is great and it looks wonderful. wall mounted, it takes up zero space.
Cons: It didn't work.
The Bottom Line: My final recommendation is don't waste your money. It doesn't work.
Review: because that's where it belongs. We moved our son's bedroom downstairs to the finished basement and his room doesn't have a heat vent. It's a small room with a bunch of furniture plus a trundle bed. The only option was a space heater and I don't feel ...

Not Recommended--Unreliable

by   momwatch ,  Apr 3, 2009
Pros: Good concept, quiet, I liked the thermostst feature, nice product when it works correctly.
Cons: Customer service unhelpful, short lifespan
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this product.  For the price, I expect a product of this nature to work for years, not a few months.
Review: I bought the Soleus HGW-308 space heater to keep my baby's bedroom warm for cold winter nights.  It worked great for about 6 months.  I liked that I could set the thermostat to the temperature I wanted, rather than the low to high dial that ...
