Author's Review
Story Plot
Arthur Penhaligon has just recently returned to his home only to find two of the second Morrow Day: Grim Tuesday's henchmen selling his house. Arthur goes back to the House to find out what is going on only to be enslaved by Grim Tuesday himself, to pay off the large debt inherited by the former Morrow Day: Mister Monday. Arthur must now travel through the dark depths of the pit, find the will, and claim the key to free him.
Break down of Plot
Arthur becomes enslaved by Grim Tuesday and must now find a way to escape the dark pit in which the workers dig for nothing, locate and free the will, and finally claim the key to free himself from slavery.
Opinion on Plot
Well drawn out and capturing, you will feel as if you are inside of the story instead of reading it. The Arthur did such a well job on describing the events that occurred, and putting out the characters emotions that I was able to understand and actually feel what the characters felt. As if that was enough alone, the action and suspense will keep you constantly on the edge of your chair, trying not to fall off and accidentally lose your place in the book.
Is it Unique?
Yes, absolutely. I have read quite a few books, but never have a read such one like the Keys to the Kingdom series. Each book giving you a new protagonist and a new setting. Moreover, the portrayal of the Seven Deadly Sins is just incredible. I would have never thought that seeing Greed brought to life would be so amazing. Hence the title of this book: "Grim Tuesday", Arthur must battle the Morrow Day: Grim Tuesday. Again, never have I seen a book do what Garth Nix has done to create such amazing characters.
Who is Grim Tuesday's Anyway?
Now, do not worry about me ruining the story plot by telling you who he is. I'll leave out what comes of him in the future, and tell you the basics about him. Imagine a moderate body builder, pretty muscular and lean. Add on a leather muscle shirt with leather trousers, and metallic gloves on either hand. Now you have the perfect physical image of Grim Tuesday. The result of him being inflicted with greed has been the excessive digging into nothing so that he would have more nothing to create things with. He will stop at nothing to gain more nothing.
Final Opinion
"Keys to the Kingdom: Grim Tuesday" is a wonderful book that should never be turned down. Beware, once you have picked it up you will not want to put it down.
