End your search...this dehumidifier is THE ONE

The Bottom Line: Quiet and effective...what else would you want in a dehumidifier?
I live in NH with a basement that is damp for three seasons. My previous dehumidifier was a 40 pint GE. It was extremely noisy, often cycled to "fan only" mode, and never seemed to really dry the basement area.
I researched different types of dehumdifiers for a few days, and I settled upon the Soleus. Because it seemed a few customers had bought defective units, I purchased an extended warranty, something I don't generally do.
Well, I have owned this unit for eight months now, and it has run flawlessly. What an absolute joy to hear how quiet this unit is compared to every other dehumidifier I have seen/heard in my life. We use our finished basement area a lot, and I have never found the sound from this unit to be obtrusive. We run it on high in continuous mode for spring, summer, and fall.
I really love how portable this unit is. I just lift and move it to a different spot, if needed. For example, I have a walk in closet in the basement that sometimes gets musty. I probably should buy another Soleus just for that area, but for now, every few days I pick up the dehumidifier and run it in that closet. All signs of mustiness are soon gone. Then I pick it up by the convenient handle and move it back to the main living area. (You can even move it with the tank half full and not spill a drop.)
I have not encountered any of the difficulty of emptying the water that others have run into. I grab it in the front on the bottom and get it "started" by pulling it out a half inch. Then I use both hands on the sides to pull it all the way out and carry it. In 8 months of use I have never spilled a drop.
I have never used any setting but high and continuous, so I cannot comment upon those.
In closing, this is a uniquely designed dehumidifier that outperforms my every expectation.
