Great Dehumidifier!

This is the third and best dehumidifier I have tried. The other two were LG and GE 40 pint models.

The LG and GE dehumidifiers worked very well. They could fill their collection buckets with water very quickly but were very loud, generating about as much noise as the average window unit AC.

They also generated a lot of heat. These units were used in a 500 sq ft finished basement and they heated the room several degrees above its normal temperature. This was unacceptable for my needs.

I bought a Soleus dehumidifier last year because the Soleus brand of dehumidifiers was described by reviewers as "whisper quiet". Compared to the other dehumidifiers I tried, the Soleus is the quietest by a longshot! I can watch TV with this unit operating in the same room. Also, this unit does not generate any perceptible amount of heat. These two qualities are paramount to me!

The 25 pint capacity of the Soleus is more than adequate for my 500 sq foot basement.

Bottom Line:
If you don't mind some noise and heat, the LG or GE dehumidifiers are a great, inexpensive option.

If you need a quiet, cool running unit- Nothing will beat the Soleus!!!!!
