Grado SR-125 Headphones: High-End Sound for a Mid-Level Price

Date of Review:  Aug 10, 2005
The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line fondly remembers when Monica Lewinsky was the biggest thing that we had to worry about.
Review: Introduction

I have long been a fan of headphones. I greatly enjoy listening to music. Sometimes, I need to listen to music. Many times, other people are sleeping or studying when I want to listen to music, so headphones are a must. Like...

Review: First off, I want to say that I'm not somebody who just bought these things and am scrambling to write a review about them; I've had these beauties for a while, and I'm finally buckling down to write about them. In fact, I have a pair of RS-1s on...

Doctor come here quick, I think these things are alive!!!!

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2000
Review: The Grado 125 is the first in the Grado line that approaches true audiophile sound. It has better detail than the SR-60 or SR-80. The highs are much more realistic - not the sparkly highs of the lower cost units. Midrange is a bit recessed but...

Great cans, but not for everyone...

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for great sounding cans for those late night sessions and critical listening, here's everything you need and you will get it dirt cheap !
Review: Bought those recently as a final upgrade to my audio setup. They replace a pair of horrible Sony wireless (MDR RF 960R). I'll never buy wireless cans again : some things are meant to stay attached.
First, as the title suggests they are not for...

Get one!

Date of Review:  Jun 8, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you have some cash to spare and want quality headphone, this is one for you. Otherwise spend $20 and get the Koss KTX Pro.
Review: There are no adjectives that can accurately describe the sound that this headphone produces. The sound is rich, balanced, and soft-- you feel like you can listen to it for hours without your ears getting tired.

The detail is outstanding...

A New Dimension

Date of Review:  Jul 25, 2000
Review: I recently purchased the Grado-SR 125's and I have been grinning from ear to ear ever since. These are the "middle-of-the-road" headphones from Grado Labs, but the SR 125's are light years ahead of the high-end headphones you might find at a large...

detail freaks, a bit too bright

Date of Review:  Jan 17, 2004
The Bottom Line: Detail freaks, will reveal anything like no other phones. But high frequencies are exagerated. Mediocre comfort.
Review: These were my first quality phones. The amount of detail revealed is flabbergasting. Normal studio monitors and proffesional headphones are like really clean crystals to look through, while the Grado phones are like quantum-effect microscopes,...

For sale: One pair of Grado SR-125 headphones, CHEAP!

Date of Review:  Aug 2, 2002
The Bottom Line: Yes, they're made well, but high-frequency sound is exaggerated, and WOW!--are they uncomfortable!
Review: At the time of this review, I'd been using my Grado SR-125 cans for just over a year, and just switched to a pair of Sennheiser HD-600s. The difference is like night and day; both in comfort and sound.

The Grado SR-125s exaggerate...
