Pack N Play

I never wanted a play pin. I felt it would hinder my son's freedom. I wanted him to learn to explore and find different things. I received my Pack 'N Play at a shower and thought I would never use it. Boy was I wrong!

I found out exploring is not such a good thing for a baby in the front yard with Texas fire ants! I used the play pin part of the Pack 'N Play to keep my son out of trouble, but still in the great outdoors while I washed the car, did the gardening, etc. I could easily keep an eye on him, but also take my eyes off. Once he started crawling, however, he didn't want to be caged in, so it was only useful for a short period of time.

Of course, the bassinet part is great for traveling. We used it several times when traveling by car, however, I'm sure it would not be easy to travel by air with it. It is far too heavy and bulky.

Finally, it was essential when my son got sick. I had the option of either sleeping in his room on the floor, or setting up the Pack 'N Play in my room. Of course, I chose the latter! It was not only a comfortable night sleep for me, but it set my mind at ease that I was near in case my son needed me!
