Good news for people who love Modest Mouse
Pros:
Just the most fascinating album. Songs are random, but original. Great classics!
Cons:
Cuss words, problem for young listeners but doesn't effect music at all.
The Bottom Line:
Listen to the singles first to see if you approve, and buy it. Personally, I don't think you even have to listen to singles. Buy it!

Author's Review
When the first single of "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" was released, which was "Float On," it was the first time I even heard of Modest Mouse. Not to mention that when I heard "Float On," it sparked a peck of interest.
I had seen the music video for this song and I thought, "This is one of the most amazing songs I have ever listened to! Just genius!" I thought that maybe the album would be just as good, but I thought, "Maybe I should wait for another single or two before I think about buying it." So, I did. What came out? "Ocean Breathes Salty," which both the song and the video sparked the same phrase: "Just genius!"
I made up my mind and I bought the album, and I have to say, I was not disappointed.
Let's start out with the singles. "Float On" is the best track on this album by far. The song starts out with high-fret strums in the beginning, and then the small solo. I love that. Whenever I hear it, I just...anyway. The song begins with, "I backed up my car into a cop car the other day. Well he just drove off, sometimes life's okay." Since when do you hear lyrics like that? It seems so random. But that just seems to be the spark of it. The song's about how some weird things happen but you eventually float on. And even though these things are random, it happens. The video was a different concept. It was animated...and it had sheep, but it just seemed too original. We all love original, don't we?
Then "Ocean Breathes Salty," which was my second favorite, was what convinced me to buy the album. The song starts out with a similar beginning as "Float On," but not very similar. Only remembering the second verse better than the first, it goes, "The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in, in your head, in your mouth in your soul. And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both grow old. Well I don't know, I don't know, but sure hope so." Then it goes into the chorus, "Well that is that, and this is this. Tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get, you get away from me." This, random like "Float On," seemed more emotional in the video then the song itself. The video is about a little boy who finds the lead singer dressed up in a crow, but the crow is hurt, so he puts him in a box, and the crow dies. But in the end, he comes back to life and performs the last chorus with the band.
A lot of the songs are like these, but obviously different in their own special way. This album definitely isn't a disappointer. It's actually the 5 star album. The only problem with this album is that...well, it has cuss words. It might be a problem for young listeners. But, the music is just outstanding. Buy it, and buy it with pleasure. You don't have to be a long time fan to buy it, and that's the fact, Jack.
