Great Variety of Music
Date of Review: Feb 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this to all Rihanna fans and even those that haven't approved of her previous work.
I became a fan of Rihanna's after her hit SOS was released and after hearing this album, I'm still a fan. I was pleased to see that the "Good Girl Gone Bad" idea didn't include turning Rihanna into a crazed sex fiend like most young pop stars. Instead it displays the Caribbean singer's natural talents and includes songs that are outside of her comfort zone. From the fast paced smash hit "Umbrella" to the Dance Club style song "Please Don't Stop the Music" this album is sure to please Rihanna fans and convert a few non-believers.
I assure you that most of the songs are catchy and at times are impossible to get out of your head. I found myself singing Umbrella the other day, even though I hadn't heard it in a month. Just when one of the songs from her album seems to fall off the charts, another one takes it's place.
If you enjoy dancing I'd also recommend this album, due to it's constant upbeat attitude and rhythm that never stops flowing. It sounds corny I know, but it's the truth.
Rihanna has a lot of natural talent and "Good Girl Gone Bad" does nothing but show you how good she really is. It's uplifting, powerful, and well written music all poured into one great album.
