Frayser boy is a protege of the Three 6 Mafia. After a debut appearance on the song "Murder She Spoke" by La Chat, fans of the Triple Six have been anticipating his album. Personally I am not amped about his album, but I decided to give it a listen and to see what Frayser Boy was about. I have to admit I've heard only about 4 songs with him on em before this, however, unlike the rest of Three 6 Mafia he doesn't just rap about the bling. This along with the fact my cousin loves this guy made he take a real look at it. This album features the Three 6 Mafia and UGK and some others from the Hypnotize Minds record label.
1. Gone on That Bay - $$$1/2 - This song starts with a little intro of Frayser Boy talkin sh!t over a sample of Beethoven's "Midnight Sonata". What is apparent from the begining is how he sounds a bit like Three 6 rapper Juicy J. After about 30 seconds Frayser Boy open up spittin about him and he crew of Hypnotize Mind. He talks some real street sh!t and talk about how he will f!ck you up if you f!ck with Hypnotize Minds. This intro is pretty hot.
2. Watching Me - $$$1/2 - This song start off with DJ Paul talkin sh!t to anyone who got beef with Hypnotize Mind and he challenges them to a duel in the streets. This song has a pretty dark atmosphere as it includes heavy basslines and female chanting in the background and during the chorus gunshots blast in the background. Frayser Boy raps about the b!tch n!ggas watching him and hating on him. He tells how a lot of cats out is bullsh!tting while he out on the streets tryin to eat. This is a pretty tight track all in all.
3. Nan Notha - $$$ - This song features DJ Paul and Juicy J from the Three Six Mafia. Now I am not down with the southern slangs and what not but from this song apparently "Nan Notha" means Another N!gga, as they say "Not A Nan Notha" when Frayser Boy asks a question like who get the most chicks. Anyway this is the first single from Gone On That Bay as my cousin who lives in South Carolina swears this is the greatest song ever. Me, I don't really see what he is talking about. This has a very commercial beat and I am not a fan of that little "tempo" rappin sh!t that Juicy J, Crunchy Black and DJ Paul do. You know when they rap in a cadence accoriding to the beat and the lyrics are sh!t. Of course Frayser Boy is gonna do that sh!t when he is on a track with them. Frayser lyrically isn't all that bad. DJ Paul recycles a rap from Rap City in the booth. Sh!t I got in late sometime last week and DJ Paul was in the booth spittin. Next thing I know I get this cd and throw this track on and the sh!t is there. I am not a fan of that recycling sh!t but hey Jay-Z recycled "Hovie's Home" mixtape verses for "Hovie Baby", and Elliot Ness recycled who albums worth of verses for Making The Band, so i guess it's ok. Then again DJ Paul picked a terrible verse to recycle. Juicy J really rips the end of this track though. This track is a notch above average.
4. Young N!ggaz - $$1/2 - This beat is nice and cool, type of beat you can just chill to. The basslines aren't too hard and it isn't all over synthesized, it includes some scratching in the background of "Wha Wha Wha". Juicy J is on this track and he handles the chorus. Juicy J and Frayser Boy both spit some gangsta a$$ lyrics but it is all basic lyrically as it is like..."I'll beat your a$$ and bust your head if you mess with me" type stuff. Another problem is the hard lyrics over a laid back beat. It doesn't mesh.
5. Bloody Murder - $$$$ - The intro to this track includes a phone call to Frayser Boy. This beat kicks in and you can tell its gonna be some gangsta sh!t. Frayser Boy spits a pretty tight story from the first person perspective of a hit man. Come to think of it StoryTellin' isn't something I'd expect from a dirty south rapper but Frayser Boy comes correct. Near the end he kind of gets caught but he won't let anyone take him down as he kills himself with "
The neighbors called the cops/ They saw me ina suspicious Spot/They'll never take me down, I make my own heart stop" after that Is one shot with the shell fallin to the floor and the sound of a helicopter overhead.
6. I'll Bring Tha Weed - $$$ - This is another song with a laid back beat. The basslines are deep, and this song has a type just kickin back in your ride type of feel to it. Frayser does the Hypnotize Tempo raps but he gives a tight look into a day of his life. The chorus is pretty damn wack though. He talks about going to some chick crib and he smash. Then goes to get some grub and to smoke some weed with his bul. Next is to the club where it gets a bit crunk. He talks about how he got fired because of negative drug test results. Not the best story but it isn't bad.
7. Flickin' - $ - Juicy J and DJ Paul featured on this song. This song is mad commercial about the rims and b!tches. This is potentially a follow single to Nan Notha. The beat is pretty nice with the pianos, deep basslines and synthesizers. Juicy J and DJ Paul both spit rhymes about Pimpin', big rims, Flickin. Frayser Boy raps some gangsta lyrics but then gets sucked into the flickin and sh!t of big rims and whatnot. This is a typically dirty south track...Garbage. The beat can't save this.
8. Pistol Playa - $ - This song features Crunchy Black and DJ Paul. CB handles the chorus. Listening closely to the beat and you will find a sample of the Clockwork Orange theme. This is a straightup hardcore song about killin people and just bustin' heads. I am a fan of gangsta rap but a brother can only get enough of the "busta head" rhymes. All three of these guys just spit some violent lyrics that will make you feel like you just got your a$$ whooped. This song will leave you bloody and bruised after CB calls you a "Sucka a$$ Sucka".
9. I Had to Getm - $$ - This song is another one about killin peeps. This is a bit of a story in which he ends a haters life. This beat is really dark and perfect for this track. The chorus is tight, but once again the subject of killin people is starting to get a bit out of hand. This brother seems a bit sadistic.
10. Bay Area - $$$3/4 - Bay Area is said in the background about 20 times over the beat. This beat is really hot. The bass hits and it seems a bit over synthesized but not to a fault. Lil Wyte is featured here. Frayser Boy raps about where he is from and lets people know he aint never gonna leave it. He tells the people he grew up with is still his peeps now and he aint gonna diss em. Lil Wyte comes up next and really rips this. Honestly I think Lil Wyte may be one of the top three rappers in the Hypnotize Camp, behind Juciy J, who i actually felt, up until that Unbreakabullsh!t. Back to the song, Lil Wyte spits about his hometown and he has a really tight flow. His lyrics here are pretty sickenin as he lets people know about the bay. he tells how it got everything from gangsta's to rappers, and rednecks to "f!ckin queers". The Bay Area chanhting gets mad annoying though.
11. She Swallowed It - 0 - Gawbage. Sure it is a change of pace from the super thugged out tracks on this album but this is horrid. You can tell what it is about from the title and...Man it sucks.
12. Ooh Wee - $ - This beat sounds a bit like a Roc-A-Fella produced track. Just Blaze of Kanye West you pick, but it sounds like something they would do. The beat is also the only good thing about this song. That terrible Project Pat "Ballers" song is sampled here also towards the end of the song.
13. Every Day Thang - $$ - I swore I heard this song seven tracks back on
I'll Bring The Weed. Once again Frayser Boy talks about his day. He raps about gettin high and messin with chicks. He talks about the hate he faces in the clubs.
14. N!ggaz Wild Throwin Bows - $ - This is a club track as you can tell from the beat and the chorus, this is designed to get the muthaf!cka crunk. This song is a poor mans version of Three 6 Mafia's "Beat Em To The Floor". The poor man being Frayser Boy. Frayser does the repeating bar sh!t on this song opting to say "A$$ N!gga" at the end of every bar. If you've been reading most of my reviews you know i hate that sh!t. Even with DJ Paul doubling his and Frayser voice whenever they say a$$ n!gga to add a touch it still stinks.
15. Walk A Mile - $$$3/4 - Frayser spits some pretty heartfelt lyrics over a dark beat on this song. He talks about how he was never gonna let anyone bring him down and he is gonna make it no matter what. He spit about hustlin on the streets. He tells the people that you can't judge him unless you walk in his shoes and see the things he's seen. He also talks about the birth of his child and the love he felt. The way he flows on this track is kind of wack and its reall the only big drawback here, but with the lyrics he comes correct. This is a tight track here.
16. Wish a Mutha Would - $ - This is Frayser Boy rappin and he lets us know he is kind of sick and tired of peeps and he challenges anyone to step up and get knocked down. A sample of La Chat is in the background sayin "You don't want none". I am not really feelin this track.
17. Closed Mouth - $$$1/2 - Another beat with deep basslines here, and throughout the song La Chat says "Ya aight know" in the background. Frayser Boy tells that if you a real gangsta you don't get scared, and if you sit at home on your a$$ all the time you don't get no money. He just tells some tales of street life on this track. He also talks about the hoes in the hood and how he be sexing them. He also talks about smokin weed some more.
"I Smoke So Much Green/
N!ggas call me ST. Patrick"
18. Hydro Weed - 0 - This is another Weed Song. This song is just annoying straight up. The beat is butt and after 30 seconds you will forget this is even on, until you just have the feel something is nagging you and you realize its the song and skip it...Real Music heads know what I mean. Also I am getting sick of the chopped up chorus's.
19. Chewin' - $1/2 - This song is the definition of recycling. This song has had at least three versions and Bun B and Pimp C's verses on this song have been pimped by DJ Paul.
20. Dog Azz N!gga - $$ - Frayser Boy lets you know he is a dog. If you his friend he gonna f!ck your b!tch. You rarely hear about a guy talkin about himself like that, sayin thats just the way he is. This is a pretty tight beat and fits the song perfectly. If you know Frayser Boy...Watch Ya Girl.
21. H.C.P. - $$$$1/2 - Hypnotize Camp Posse is featured here. DJ Paul starts off sayin that the peeps that left the Camp aight doin sh!t as he peeped they sound scans. Crunchy Black obviously doesn't know what the f!ck he wants to do on this track. I can't tell if its rappin or if he is yelling in pain...I mean there are gunshots ringing off in the background...Naa, HCP needs someone to dance around a sh!t for the videos. Juicy J spits a verse about Project Pat and how he wishes Pat wasn't locked down, but he will stay behind him. Lord Infamous is next an he tells peeps to get they painkiller because if you wanna f!ck with HCP they gonna leave you severely injured. Lil Wyte spits a mad tight verse here. He sounds a bit like a fast rappin "Fredderick" from Making The Band. He refers to himself as a "Little Cracker". Frayser spits a tight verse to finish it off. This is obviously the best track on the album. The beat on the track is absolutely sickenin. The chanting/singing in the background will make you bob your head even more. As the last really song on the album it is a great finish.
22. Coming Attractions - N/A - Just HCP talkin about they upcoming projects. Funny how CB's album is gonna be called From me 2 u.
This album isn't all that bad but it just gets som damn sour. The first 6 tracks showed promise, then his subject matter of killing people very violently just gets played out along with his weed tracks. He doesn't rap about all the bling bling and they is good but he just got some wack tracks. About 7 of these songs are straight fillers. If he put this out as an album with 12 or 13 tracks and they were the best track on this album, it would be a 3.5-4 star album no doubt, but he just got some real garbage sh!t on here. I recommend this for and HCP and Three 6 fans as I am sure they will love this, me however, it gets a bit stale and I can honestly see myslef only listening to two or three of these songs in a month. I can honestly say I would recommend this though, to people who like Dirty South Rap, Three 6 Mafia in particular.
