A Hole in One!!!!!
Date of Review: Sep 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: If your into golf this is a unique spin-off, rather than stressing over your score as you compete in a competition golf game.
This game won't stress you out over the competition. It is very easy to succeed. I was actually impressed with the sound track for this game. The music blends into the background and doesn't annoy you like some games. Then the sound effects blend into the music. It was better than what I expected. The graphics aren't that great but the gameplay is very captivating for any golfer out there. The actual buildings and course holes are pretty defined but the people walking around look like little stick men with clothes on.
What's better than being able to design your own golf course. You can build up to 18 holes in your choice of setting. Such as: Mountain, Desert, Jungle, Forest, Island. My advice is to go through the tutorial and for information on how to play but it also gives you some extra capital. This allows you to create a successful resort quicker.
As soon as you build one hole you'll start to have costomers show up and then begins your money making. You get to control the prices on everything. You make money from club rentals, green fees, restaurants, hotel, rec facilities, practice area, etc. You also have to take care of the place. This comes by creating and hiring ground keepers and pest control. You have the ability to place your buildings wherever you want, place paths, make the holes dogleg or not. You even get to decide whether the hole is a par 3,4 or 5.
You can see the opinions and stats of each individual customer. The golfer's can be checked on for their opinions of your course, what it needs, their score, how much money they have, etc. You also can see them play the course, each strike of the ball can be followed (Hey some of these guys are good). If they have excessive amounts of money and they like your resort, you need to start building other amenities that will increase their stay. This includes putting greens, chipping greens, golf lessons, rec facilities, restaurants, accomodations, and even the lounge. All of these extras cost for their use so you get more profits for providing them with a delightful experience.
If they are scoring to low, you can increase the difficulty of the course by adding hazards. You have a wide range of water and sand hazards that can put a damper into anyone's game. Finally, your resort is rated on the star rating from 1-5 stars.
