The Bottom Line: If you own an N64 but you don't own this game, go and buy it now. You won't be disappointed
This game is a must for every N64 owner. This game is very good in both single player and multiplayer modes with lots of variety which will suck away you life like never before.
Goldeneye is a first person shooter which means you get to control Bond by looking through his eyes. In Goldeneye you are trying to stop Trevaylen from blowing up London with a satellite weapon called Goldeneye. The difference between this FPS and most others is that you have to be careful who you shoot. In most FPS games you can just blast anything that moves but in this game if you shoot the wrong guy (or gal) you can complete the level.
Single Player
In single player the game is split up into 18 levels (plus 2 bonus levels) and 3 different difficulties. The first 18 missions follow the story line of the movie with some of the level designs being instantly recognisable. Each level has a set of tasks you must complete so you can progress onto the next level. There is a large selection of weaponry available to use from magnetic watches and pistols to rocket launchers and tanks. Each level also has a cheat hidden in it which can be activated by completing the level in a certain time at a certain difficulty.
Multiplayer
This is the reason Goldeneye is so popular. Just pick one of the 11 levels, pick a weapon and your ready to shot your mates to pieces. There are so many options that you just can't get bored. You can make it realistic with one shot kills or play in teams and work together to destroy your friends. Whatever you do you will always come back for more.
Downsides
There are very few problems with this game but one of the main ones is that sometimes you can see objects through walls and doors. This is not a great problem but does sometimes get annoying when you are using a sniper rifle's zoom function.
