8 Years Later & Goldeneye 007 Is Still Shining

by   Dbbum ,  Oct 23, 2005
Pros: Single player gameplay, high replay value
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: The best Nintendo 64 game ever!
Review: Since Goldeneye 007 has been out for almost 8 years now and has been reviewed some 1 billion times, why even bother posting a review? I recently got back into Nintendo 64 and am pulling out some old games I haven't played in years. It's shocking to see ...

24 Karats of Pure Gold (Bond, James Bond W/O)

by   BaronSamedi3 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  May 25, 2002
Pros: You get to be Bond, man! Isn't that worth something in itself?
Cons: It just had to be on the N64
The Bottom Line: The name's Bond. James Bond. I'd like a martini, shaken, not stirred.
Review: Well, when I decided to participate in Rock_On's Bond, James Bond write off, I intended to review Live and Let Die, the movie starring the bad guy who I stole my name from, Baron Samedi. But, true to my form, I wound up a victim of bad timing, ...

The Best Bond Game Ever Made (GTWCTW Write-Off)

by   xeno3998 ,  Dec 26, 2001
Pros: You must be over 18 to view this epinion
Cons: It's too late, you already clicked the link didn't you?
The Bottom Line: i want mango colada!
Review: It's rare that a game comes along that is both enjoyable as a single player experience, and insanely addictive as a multiplayer experience. It's even more rare that such a game controls damn-near flawlessly, is a movie-licensed endeavour (meaning most...

Goldeneye 007: The Golden Age FPS (Rock_On's W/O)

by   pavona21 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Jan 29, 2002
Pros: Great single and multiplayer, huge replay value, and more.
Cons: Enemy AI, Sound
The Bottom Line: This is one of the greatest FPS's ever, read this to find out why. Then, when you are done with this, read all the other FPS W/O submissions.
Review: Mr. Rock_On
This W/O, as you may already know is being hosted by my fellow games reviewer Rock_On. While I have no catchy dialogue describing how exactly he thought this thing up, I do know that this was an excellent idea for a W/O....

Goldeneye: Without you my N64 would be in the Dumpster

by   Horhay ,  Aug 14, 2001
Pros: It’s one of the few N64 games that I still play
Cons: It’s one of the few N64 games that I still play
The Bottom Line: Plain and simple, Goldeneye is an N64 classic.
Review: Intro: I haven’t written anything on the N64 since last December, but even that’s not saying much since I don’t write as much as I did before. So I’ve decided to make this my second to the last game review for the system, and ...

Man...Haven't You Ever Thought About How Much Having A Golden Eye Would Hurt? (007 Write-Off)

by   Solid_Snake ,  Apr 8, 2001
Pros: Great multiplayer action...why don't you just read the opinion?
Cons: Frame rate occasionally stutters
The Bottom Line: I swear, I hate this f*cking feature. And go read the other top-notch reviewers that took part in this write-off. NOW!!!
Review: Welcome to the James Bond Write Off, hosted by Xeno3998. It was scheduled to go down on April 7th, 2001, but Epinions decided to neglect us again and started to seriosly f*ck up, causing everyone to post late. So, once you've read my review, go...

It keeps going, and going, and..

by   paper-trail ,  Apr 22, 2002
Pros: Nearly flawless FPS game engine. Mission-based levels keep things interesting.
Cons: Blocky character models; difficult to the point of frustration at times.
The Bottom Line: Arguably the best N64 game ever released, you owe it to yourself to play Goldeneye. Two guns up!
Review: Winner of the The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences's 1998 game of the year award, Goldeneye for the Nintendo64 home video game console set a new standard for FPS (first-person shooters) software. The development team at Rare in Twycross, England...

the names Lop, tommy_lop

by   tommy_lop ,  Aug 30, 2001
Pros: great game
Cons: can get really diffcult in 00 agent mode
The Bottom Line: rewrite on my first epinion
Review: Now ordinarily I hate the first person genre. All the games I have seen have been basically mindless running around shooting anything that moves, and the enemies have pathetic AI basically just stand around letting you shoot them. Basically most of the...

Goldeneye: A Masterpiece

by   sp3n5erd ,  Mar 25, 2006
Pros: Level design, stealth gameplay, intuitive controls, difficulty curve, multiplayer, longevity.
Cons: Design of open levels, lack of multiplayer 'bots'.
The Bottom Line: The archetypal console first-person shooter. If you like the genre then buy the console and the game, it's a bargain!
Review: Goldeneye is quite simply the best console first-person shooter I've ever played, with the possible exception of the sequel, Perfect Dark. This is quite an impressive achievement since the game is now the best part of 10 years old. So what makes it so ...

I wish I had time to play this after Perfect Dark

by   jro26 ,  Oct 16, 2000
Pros: Hard but you can still beat it
Cons: Perfect Dark has more options
Review: This game came with my N64 since I bought it on eBay and this was my all time fav until Perfect Dark came out but this is still a really great game.

The missions are pretty easy once you get the hang of it but it is not a game you could clear...
