Epinions The Higher You Go, the Crookeder it Gets. Godfather III

by  George_Chabot, top reviewer in Movies ,  Mar 15, 2003
Pros: Al Pacino, Supporting Cast, Direction, Script, Photography, Score
Cons: There is no Godfather, Part VI
The Bottom Line: A fitting capstone to the finest trilogy ever filmed. Watch The Godfather, Part III as well as the other two installments.
Review: A man has to be what he is. You can’t break the mold. Shane

Politics and crime - it's the same thing. Michael Corleone

You can’t buy happiness. I guess that’s the main thing I learned watching The...

Epinions "Your sins are terrible, it is just that you suffer."

by  JackFoley,  Aug 21, 2001
Pros: Brilliant end to the trilogy, operatic and grand, great performances
Cons: A little less assured in its direction
The Bottom Line: A perfect conclusion to the trilogy, this movie weaves together a tricky plot with operatic drama and stellar performances from Pacino and Garcia.
Review: "The Godfather Trilogy" is possibly the greatest trilogy of films ever made. The sweeping themes of family, the American Dream, redemption, loyalty, and honor are wrapped up inside an amazingly compelling story of the Corleone crime family, highlighted...

Epinions The Great Oscar Robbery?

by  lansky2000,  Dec 28, 1999
Pros: Greatest of the "Godfather" Flicks...
Cons: Shouldn't have gambled on the subject matter...
Review: Francis Ford Coppola got robbed again. After "Apocalypse Now" you'd think they would've owed him, but "Godfather III" got slammed for the sole reason that he gave his daughter a lead role after Winona Ryder dropped out of the part....

Epinions The end of an Epic

by  Lowrider85,  Jul 15, 2000
Pros: Great acting, drama and music
Cons: Directors cut at beginning of movie
Review: I've waited a long time to see this movie, it is my favorite of the trilogy. The actors did a great job in this movie especially Al Pacino, Andy Garcia and Sofia Coppola. Andy Garcia plays Vincent Mascini , Sonny's son who works for Joey...

Epinions Don't overlook this gem!

by  gczffl,  Mar 9, 2003
Pros: Final closure on the Michael Corleone saga.
Cons: Sofia Coppola as Mary Corleone.
The Bottom Line: This is a high-quality movie brings closure to this epic saga, although it's overshadowed by its predecessors.
Review: If I had a nickel for every time someone told me "The Godfather Part III is terrible because it's not as good as the first two" then I wouldn't need to get up for work tomorrow. Yes, I will agree that the first two Godfather movies were superior, BUT...

Epinions The Overlooked Of The Trilogy

by  puzo16,  Jun 29, 2000
Pros: acting,actors,cinematography,plot,quotes
Cons: only con is with all godfather movies u must have patience they are long
Review: I saw this movie to fill the void of having seen the first two and needings desperately a resolution. Godfather part 3 is a great movie though it is often overlooked in the series.. everyone loves the beginning Godfather.. awes at the severity of part...

Epinions 3rd Times A Charm- w/o- Godfather, Part III

by  BeastieGirl,  Jan 22, 2003
Pros: Al Pacino & Andy Garcia
Cons: Sofia Coppola
The Bottom Line: True to the Godfather trilogy, this one mirrors closely with the first film- highly recommend seeing Part I first.
Review: The Godfather, Part III is part of a classic trilogy involving the crime family, the Corleones, in case you hadn’t heard. The first two movies won Oscars for Best Picture, becoming the first film along with its sequel to do so. Part...

Epinions THE GODFATHER III: A Denouement (The Opera).

by  macresarf1, top reviewer in Movies ,  May 30, 2000
Pros: A most satisfactory denouement for THE GODFATHER TRILOGY.
Cons: The contrast between the earlier characters and the 1980's innocents may strike some as amateurish.
The Bottom Line: Vincent Corleone, the new Godfather, has serious competition these days -- other men, more respectable godfathers. They all carry on the work Vito Corleone began, and Michael Corleone continued.
Review: Up front, let me say, if you watch The Final Director's Cut of THE GODFATHER III (170 minutes), rather than the theatrical release (161 minutes); if you see the whole trilogy within a brief period of time, I believe you will find THE GODFATHER III the ...

Epinions A film with some of the most dramatic moments in the history of cinema

by  charlie2000,  Oct 21, 1999
Pros: fantastic performances from Pacino, Garcia, Keaton and Shire.
Cons: Not a classic in the mould of it's predecessors
Review: 'The Godfather Part Three' is a film that, though flawed, is a wonderful example of cinema at it's most symbolic and artistic. There are set pieces in this film as spectacular as anything you will ever have seen before, and the final forty-five minutes...

Epinions Forgive me father, for I have sinned...

by  moongodfather,  Jan 29, 2000
Pros: A great wrapup movie
Cons: A bit violent, though less than the previous ones
Review: The third and final movie in the Godfather Trilogy see's the falling of the Corleone Empire through the eyes of the Aging Godfather Michael Corleone. By this time, his son and daughter are much older, around the age of 20. You get to see Michael trying...
