The Bottom Line: buy it! its brilliant!
Glamour as the first british magazine to go handbag sized, and has been vote magazine of the year a couple of years in a row. but what makes it so great? its small size? maybe, but more and more magazines are jumping on the bandwagon and offering readers scaled fown versions of their favourite reads.
glamour has the special power of getting you excited about the next issue. and covers a whole host of topics such as love, dating, work, sex, shopping, health and money. There are regular free gifs and reader offers and it is the only magazine to have a whole day devoted to it - National Glamour day, which encourages the magazines readers to spend a whole day completely and utterly on themselves, this years was packed with offers of free cocktails and huge discounts in high street stores and on hair cuts and colouring at Saks.
There are regular big giveaways and fewer adverts in the magazine than in others. Theres up to the minute fashion and beauty information in every issue and loads of great ideas for what to buy. theres even a tv series currently airing about the magazine, called G Girls.
Another factor which makes Glamour a fantastic competetor for vogue, marie claire and cosmopolitan, its closest rivals, is its price. at only #1.80 an issue, glamour is one of the cheapest monthlies available, as well as being one of the best quality. This means that some brilliant deals for subscriptions are available and a new free gift every month for new subscribers, so you can have glamour delivered to your door, sometimes days before it is out in the shops giving you the upper hand if you want to enter competitions and 'free for the first 50 readers..' offers.
