Author's Review
I began watching Gilmore Girls around 5 years ago and I've been hooked ever since! I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite shows, if not my absolute favorite.
The plot of Gilmore Girls is a unique one: A young woman around thirty two years of age named Lorelei Gilmore lives in a small town named Stars Hollow in Connecticut with her sixteen year old daughter Rory. Sixteen years ago, she finds herself in a predicament of large proportions: she finds herself pregnant. Her parents, the upper crust of Hartford, Connecticut, were extremely unsupportive of her life choices, and she decides to move to a small town to live life the way she chooses. Fast forward sixteen years - Lorelei becomes the manager of a small inn and Rory begins a prestigious prep school named Chilton to aid her and her mothers dreams of going to Harvard University.
Although this may sound like an odd plot, this show is so charming you won't mind. In my opinion, the first season is the absolute best out of all seven seasons. You follow the plots of Rory beginning Chilton, getting a boyfriend and trying to adjust to her new lifestyle, and Lorelei getting involved with one of Rory's teacher, support her daughter while in school, both mentally and financially (with the help of her parents, much to her disapproval). All this set in a beautiful charming small town of Stars Hollow with it's kooky but lovable characters, fast paced dialog and pop culture references.
Overall, if you love Comedy, Drama, Fast paced dialog and witty writing, this is the show for you!
