George Foreman -- The Legend
The man has simply done it all. Puncher, preacher, pitchman, actor, Olympian, World Champion, father. Not so fast he has yet to grace the cover of a Wheaties box. Their loss!! Besides those geeks at general mills would probably ask to be featured on the box of The Champs product. George would probably give that limp Trix rabbit a good kick in the buckteeth. Anyway, on with the show baby needs a new pair of shoes.
Introducing in this corner:
George Foremans Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine
The operation is quite simple. Plug in grill. Preheat. Flop on meat. Enjoy.
First, a small introduction to this awesome appliance will help you get a little more familiar with its workings, unlike the toaster oven that almost took the roof off of my house. Through trial by fire I know that the term plug-n-play is best left in the computing world and is not to be associated with any food heating electrical appliances.
The grill is small and compact and is something of a waffle iron for meats, in that, it cooks your food from both sides with one grilling plate on the bottom and one grilling plate built into the lid. The instructions tell you to use a pot holder when lifting the lid and as I can attest, yes, it does get very hot.
The unit comes with a grease drip tray that collects all of the melted fats, in the form of grease, that drips off your food. No need to keep frying your food in grease that will only add more fat grams to your meal when you can watch it easily slide into the drip tray.
The unit cleans up quick and easy with a sponge and an included plastic spatula. The only drawback being that the grilling machine must be turned on and off via the electrical outlet on the wall. When Salton finally gets smart they will add an on/off switch - maybe after the lawsuit. Ten years from now people will be heard saying, Remember the old grilling machines where you had to remove the plug from the wall? Jerry Seinfeld should file this information away for use at a later date.
The Eats
Turkey, chicken, sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers, vegetables you name it. If it can be heated on a grill this machine can handle it. The beauty is that you know you will always be grilling and attempting to reduce the fat contents of your meals. No more frying, boiling, nuking or testing the alertness of the local fire house with your archaic toaster oven. The grill heats up quick without having to give a second thought to the drudgery associated with food preparation.
The food usually heats quickly as it is cooked simultaneously from both sides. The drawback to this is that some meats can cook too fast and dry out a bit. You will have to play with you grill several times until you get it just right. This simply means more food for you.
Note: George was paid over $100 million dollars to lend his name and likeness to the hawking of this product. Its no wonder it wasnt shaped in the form of a pair of boxing gloves or the world title belt. If you love this product, youll fall for the whole family of George Foremen cooking products.
