Product Review

Best car deal I ever made.

by   geosooner ,   Oct 3, 2007

Pros:  MPG!!! Easy to work on. Room for my long legs. Dependable economic transportation.

Cons:  Can't find 12in tires anywhere. About as safe as skateboard. Needs cupholders. Not a convertible.

The Bottom Line:  Great car. I would buy two more at the price I paid. Great commuter car.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this Geo to commute to work just before gas prices started to rise. Timing was great on my part. I bought it knowing it had a CV joint that needed replacement and the previous owner kept the radio. I spent $50 on the CV/Drive shaft and $50 for a cheap radio/CD. The speakers were toast, so I bought a speaker box at a pawn shop for $15. Now I have a great little car that gets 45-50mpg. The car is in excellent condition, the interior is perfect (with original floor mats), and the body is straight and paint is good. I commute 50mi round trip to work every day. I use one tank of fuel ($60)in my Jeep each week or one tank of fuel in my Geo ($20), a $40 savings just on fuel each week.
I have driven the car about 25,000 miles in the last 2 1/2 years. I change the oil every 3,000mi. The only other maintenance I have done is to replace the wiper blades and the belts. I have had to replace the O2 sensor and put one can of coolant in the A/C. This car has been wonderful. I wish I could find another in as great of condition as this one just to keep as a spare. I am 6'2" and the little Geo has plenty of room in the front for me. It has as much leg and head room as my Grand Cherokee.
At the risk of having all the remaining Geo's snapped up by other people, I must say this is a great car. It is no rocket, but it gets better mileage than my motorcycle (also has a smaller engine than my bike). I give this car 5 stars.
