Pros: Early demos and singles; excellent live recording of 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway'
Cons: Some of the early Genesis music may not appeal to some music fans
Review: If you were somewhat disappointed with Genesis' latest release (Turn It On Again - The Hits), I would recommend that you turn your attention to a boxed set that they released in 1998. Entitled 'Genesis Archive 1967-75', the set consists of four CD's...

Pros: Essential prog rock, great live performance and archive material
Cons: Early music isn't very interesting, but so what?
Review: Some of you may be wondering why an essay about an art rock group would be named after a line stolen from Wordsworth. The reason is that this line was also stolen by Genesis in their magnum opus "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway", which gives...

Pros: Great live performances and material
Cons: It could have included some more live performances
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend "Genesis Archive: 1967-1975" to anyone who is looking for good supplemental material.
Review: As soon as I heard from my fiancee that there was a Genesis box set that included songs that made up a complete live performance of "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway," I knew I had to have it! A few weeks later, we went out to purchase a copy of ...

Pros: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway in its entirety, "Supper's Ready" with "Colors"
Cons: The box doesn't fit on the CD shelf with the rest of my collection
Review: The Genesis Archive (1969-1976) is the ultimate gift for that special someone who just can't get enough Genesis. Featured on three of the four CDs are a collection of live performances from various shows, including the LA Lamb Lies Down on Broadway show...

Pros: The third disc is essential and there are some nice, rare photos!
Cons: Over-priced,the fourth disc is unneccesary and the packaging is very cheap!
The Bottom Line: Tis recommended for people who like the way Peter Gabriel looks with his reverse mohawk!
Review: This could have been so much better!
This boxed set will appeal to the most die-hard early Genesis fans..of which I am proudly one! Before I sing it's praises in my deep bozza nova bass voice, I must..yes I MUST, point out... |

Pros: The Lamb Live...
Cons: Few surprises, cheap box set, bad chosen content
Review: I have been a Genesis fan for 20 years, especially during the Gabriel era where inspiration was optimum for all members of the ban... So of course I ran to buy this box set... 4 CD, The Lamb lies down on Broadway live, finally a good live recording of...
