General Electric GFSS6KKXSS Stainless Steel (25.8 cu. ft.) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

My new GE Profile was delivered today. I was very excited until the packing was removed and I saw the warped and dented stainless steel on both french doors. Then we heard this is not an isolated incident. The delivery guys said every one of these models they have delivered were damaged in the same places. They reported the damage and GE is sending a new refrigerator next week. The delivery guy said he had a customer who had a damaged refrigerator three times. After the third one he excepted the discount GE offered and kept the damaged refrigerator.
I called and GE only offered us a $100.00 refund. The operator I spoke with was not very concerned and said that a new refrigerator was being shipped. She was very matter-of-fact and assured me the next one would not be damaged. I will update this comment and let you know if the next one is also damaged.

I do have one more complaint. The delivery was to include installation and hooking up the water to the ice maker. This item was purchased from Home Depot and with the purchase you are required to purchase an ice maker kit. The sale person told us we must have a shut-off valve in the kitchen for the delivery guys to do the installation. He said if the shut-off valve is in the basement they can't do it. He didn't tell us the hose is only 4 foot long and the delivery guys will not install if the shut-off valve is not directly behind the appliance. Home Depot required us to purchase the kit $9.99. The first thing the delivery guy said was, "You don't want to use this kit. It's flimsy and the line is to short." I don't think this is very good customer service by GE, Home Depot or the delivery service. The delivery guys were very nice and I know they have no control over policy.

I wish I would have read the opinions on this site prior to purchase.

I want the french doors with the water and ice in the door and I'm willing to give GE one more chance.
